Leigh Clarke – Director & Executive Trainer 

Leigh is a highly qualified and experienced trainer with over 10 years in the industry. He is results driven and a passionate fitness enthusiast. He has been managing his own personal training business for over 8 years having consulted at a range of Melbourne’s premium fitness locations including Park Hyatt, Space Health Clubs, Fitness First, Winning Edge and recently Inspire Fitness. Clarke is certainly looking forward to the challenge of his very own gym and looks forward to working with all his clients from aspiring athlete, Mums, Dads, Exectutives, Trend Setters, students and beginners.

Leigh has consulted also to many elite sporting bodies, including Hockey Vic, Netball Vic, Richmond FC, managed elite junior & youth athletes through Australian Sports Initiatives as well as facilitated corporated training programs for NIKE, UNDERTOW MEDIA & KEEP LEFT MEDIA.

Rob Inness - Corporate Training Manager

Rob has been heavily involved in high performance fitness from a young age and has rich history in achieving high results.  His training philosophy is based foremost on the education of a healthy lifestyle, ensuring clients are empowered to be self-motivated to achieve their health and fitness goals.  He has completed a Physical Education degree with top marks and over the last seven years has worked at some of Melbourne’s premium health clubs including Space Health Clubs, The Centre of Mind and Movement, MSAC, Genesis.  He brings experience from the corporate environment to Refine having worked with top companies such as KPMG, ASIC, Norman Disney and Young and BOVIS.

After working as a Physical Education teacher in both Melbourne and London he has furthered his education with a Cert III in Fitness as well as a Level II in Strength and Conditioning.  This has enabled him to gain outstanding results as a consultant for a number of elite sporting bodies having trained Professional Golfers, the Footscray Edgewater Premier Cricket Club, Northcote Park and Seymour Football Club’s (yielding 3 straight senior GVFL premierships), and now with the strength and conditioning department at the Richmond Football Club in the AFL.

Tim Walsh – Trainer

Tim Walsh has recently finished his Cert IV in personal training having completed 5 seasons with AFL club Western Bulldogs. After being drafted at #4 in the national draft, Walsh has trained at an elite level and brings to Refine his invaluable knowledge around fitness & health.

After finishing his AFL career, Walsh played with the Collingwood VFL side in 2008 and focused on life after football. Not only is he passionate about fitness, he has also been accepted in the Fire Brigade Academy.

Tim’s encouraging nature makes him an ideal trainer who works alongside his clients to achieve their fitness goals.

Evelyn Christou - Trainer

Ev is a recent, and very welcomed addition to the Refine team having come from, and still working as Pharmacist. Bringing together her study in certificate III & IV in fitness and personal training, her degrees in chemistry and her passion for health and fitness, making Ev a well rounded and learned trainer.

Ev has trained for and completed marathons in recent times, and brings this training knowledge to our team.  Ev's focus at the moment is on developing her own training style and programs with a focus on groups sessions and boot camps.

Katie Petifer – Myotherapist 

Katie Pettifer is trained as a myotherapist. She graduated from RMIT in 2002 and has since been working in a private practice at multi-displinary clinics around Melbourne. She is also one of the Soft Tissue Therapists for the Australian and Victorian Swimming Teams, travelling internationally since 2005. She recently travelled to the Beijing Olympics as part of the Australian Headquarters staff working with a variety of sports and athletes.

She is accredited with a number of Health Funds (including Medibank, HBA, Australian Unity & NIB) as well as workcover accredited.

Massage and myotherapy are key components in rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. These therapies not only relieve aches, pains and strains, soreness and stiffness but also have a powerful effect on relieving tensions and stress from the body.

Katie looks forward to working with a number of Refine Training members & clients.
